TRT Exemption

Hey, guys. I was talking to someone involved in the medical field tonight about TRT and PED usage in MMA and he brought up something interesting that I was previously not aware of. He mentioned that there is a blood test that could be done to be able to identify whether your natural testosterone levels are low due to prior synthetic usage..

I'm not necessarily sure if people were aware of this as it's something that hasn't really been brought up in any articles or comments I've read. I suppose if there is a legitimate test that could be done, the blood work should be necessary in order to be able to get a therapeutic use exemption from the athletic commission. Any fighter who uses TRT is immediately black listed by the MMA community, myself included, and most likely rightfully so. However, I and many acknowledge that it is possible there could be individuals who have low testosterone due to the commonly mentioned reasons such as head trauma, over-training, age, etc. and those athletes should be able to use the TUE for legit medical reasons.

I think this is something that should be implanted by the athletic commission and deny any fighter who only has low testosterone levels due to prior illegal steroid usage. Let me know what you guys think in the comments.
