Dos Santos Coach Says Cain Velazquez Has Broken Hand, Rematch Will Be in November Or December

At the UFC on FX 3 press conference, UFC president Dana White stated that the UFC heavyweight title rematch between Junior dos Santos and Cain Velasquez would likely take place at UFC 152 on September 22nd. According to JDS coach Yuri Carlton though, that isn't going to happen. In an interview with Tatame (translated by Fighters Only), the coach pointed out that neither fighter would be ready by then, especially since Velasquez has a broken hand:

"The fight is with Velasquez, but no definite date. It was speculated for September, but that is unreal. Velasquez is also with a broken hand, its not resolved, so I think the UFC will wait a little longer."

This is supported by the fact that Cain was suspended for up to six months by the Nevada State Athletic Commission due to a possible left hand fracture after UFC 146. No one from Cain's side has confirmed whether the hand was broken or not at this point though.

It seems that Dana might have jumped the gun a little bit on pegging the fight for Toronto either way.
