So I’m writing this at midnight here in the UK with the view to posting this tomorrow morning (my internet is down). If this gets as far as you guys, then that means I have managed to avoid passing out and I therefore feel obliged to apologise for the subsequent dribble that is this here article. Anyway, the reason I have written this is because my favourite part of bloodyelbow is reading the comments, so what follows is a scatter gun approach that will hopefully raise at least one point of interest.

So apparently after some speculation, Brock Lesnar isn’t coming back to the UFC. I don’t think he’d even come close to holding the title again if he did come back, but man his fights are fun. The dude is great to watch and I would love to see him again. Lesnar vs Werdum or Nelson would be brilliant.

I hate TRT, I hate everything about it. I hate the bullshit rules, and all the bullshit that surrounds it and the fighters that use it…… but I’m willing to let that all slide to see JDS vs Overeem. I guess that makes me weak, but it’s one hell of a fight, so fuck it.

I can’t believe the UFC has let Condit wait for a title shot. There are far too many top fighters in the WW division not fighting. This frustrates me. I want to see a 4 man tournament. Condit, Hendricks, Kampman and MacDonald, winner gets GSP in a fight that would require no hyping.

Leave Bones Jones alone, there’s nothing wrong with the guy, he’s just a bit square and awkward. Loads of stars make mistakes. Loads of stars are actually pretty unsavoury characters, but somehow, we the public manage to ignore the wrong doings of most of them, and save up all our hate for a select few. Personally, I don’t care what he does. He can saddle up his grandma and ride her naked through the streets for all I care. I’m still going to watch his fights because they are insane!

I would have rather seen JDS vs Hunt than JDS vs Mir. It would have been a much better fight.

For me, Bellator cards are now up there with UFC Fuel and Fx cards generally. I am becoming a big fan and I love the tournament format, it’s a breath of fresh air when you want to get out from some of the stagnant UFC divisions.

Mayhem is gone and it was a cringeworthy exit. The guy used to be a good fighter, and with that, his persona worked, I think mainly because he could justify being a bit of a twat, but now that he’s losing and losing bad, it just seems like he’s desperately flailing for that last bit of the lime light. Painful, he used to be cool.

Lombard will be a beast in the UFC. I also have this weird, irrational feeling that he’s going to be holding the gold by the end of the year. On a side note, I don’t mind Bisping, and I get why he doesn’t think Lombard deserves a title shot, but neither does he, and I think if he meets Lombard, he gets knocked into Middle Earth.

I wanted McCall to beat Johnson, and now that Johnson’s injured it just makes it worse. Benavidez will dominate the division for a long time, but I still want to see him fight.

Shogun vs Vera is weak. Props to those who can get interested in it, but I can’t. Sorry.

On a more positive note, there are some great fights coming up. Can’t wait for Edgar vs Hendo, WAR FRANKIE. People tend to be down on Edgar because he wasn’t a dominant champ, but that is exactly why I love him. He’s been in three of my top ten fights.

On a side note, I really believe that Pettis is the most talented guy in that division. I hope he shines through because that dude is great to watch.

Tito Ortiz has been inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame. Good for him. He’s certainly put in a shift for the UFC.

On a final note. I’ve been browsing this site for the past 2 or 3 years, occasionally chipping in, but generally a quiet spectator. I just wanted to say that the writers here are great and I appreciate the stuff they all do. Also, props to Jack Slack for his regular and quality articles. Apologies that mine are not, but hell, freedom of speech is a glorious thing. -->
