Budovideos tweeted a few minutes ago that former Strikeforce fighter Andre Galvao has been disqualified from the IBJJF World Championships while coaching one of his students. Due to IBJJF rules Galvao is now banned from the venue and thus will not be able to compete either in his weight-class or the absolutes later this weekend. Fellow Atos teammate Bruno Frazatto was also ejected.

The incident occurred when Galvao and Frazatto were coaching Denilson Bischiliari in a purple belt match. Denlison was grappling with Marcio Andre of Nova Uniao. The match was tied until the referee issued a 2-point penalty to Denilson and giving the match to to Andre. Galvao and Frazatoo became upset and jumped the barricade that separates coaches and spectators from the competitors to protest. According to IBJJF that warrants an immediate ejection.

This is a very shocking turn of events as Galvao was one of the favorites to win both the Medium-Heavyweight class and the Absolutes.

Video of the match is after the jump, see if you agree with the ref or Galvao.
