Ellenberger is currently ranked at third in the world at welterweight in the USA Today/BE Consensus Rankings, while Kampmann sits in the ninth position. Ellenberger isn't going anywhere rankings-wise with a win, but he will definitely cement himself into a possible title fight. Kampmann will definitely move up a few spots with a win. This welterweight bout is the main event of the night and will air on FX. The FX broadcast begins at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.

What have these two done recently?
How did these two get here?
Ellenberger has had a stellar UFC career so far, only dropping a close split-decision to current interim champion Carlos Condit in his debut. He has reeled off six straight wins since then and finished four of those bouts. Victories over names like Jake Shields and Diego Sanchez have him in the running for an eventual title shot, and a win over Kampmann here would further his case a lot.
Kampmann had a solid 4-1 run at middleweight but made the drop to 170 after a loss to Nate Marquardt. His only decisive loss at welterweight so far was a TKO loss to Paul Daley (where he never actually got knocked down). His other two losses, to Jake Shields and Diego Sanchez, were both razor-thin decisions that could have gone either way. He has picked up wins over Rick Story and Thiago Alves in his last two bouts and will look to climb back into the top five with a win over the tough Ellenberger.
