Grappling superstar Roger Gracie will be making the drop to 185 for his next Strikeforce fight, and he will take on a guy that recently came to the same decision. And it looks like they'll be meeting in the Pacific Northwest. MMA Fighting has the news:
Roger Gracie will officially make his middleweight debut against another former light-heavyweight who shifted to the lighter division when he takes on Keith Jardine during a July Strikeforce event that is still in the planning stages.
Two sources confirmed the fight pairing to MMA Fighting.
Though the event is not officially announced, it is tentatively penciled in for Portland, Oregon, the sources said.
A date has not yet been finalized either.
Gracie is coming off the first defeat of his MMA career, a first-round TKO loss to Muhammed Lawal last September. Jardine was given a title shot in his middleweight debut, but lost to Luke Rockhold by first-round TKO.
According to the article, Strikeforce middleweight champion Rockhold is expected to defend his title against Tim Kennedy in the main event of the show.
