After some initial plans that would reserve the first two bouts on the preliminary card of UFC on Fox 3 to the live audience only, the powers that be have changed their mind and are now airing the fights on Facebook.
Those of us not in attendance in Atlantic City will now be able to access a live stream on the UFC Facebook page to watch as Mike Massenzio (13-6) battle Karlos Vemola (8-2) in a middleweight bout and see Nick Denis (11-2) take on Roland Delorme (7-1) in a bantamweight fight.
This will be the third weight class for Vemola, the one-time heavyweight. He drops to middleweight after losing the fight and every round against Ronny Markes back in August of 2011. We last saw Massenzio in action at UFC 142 where he tapped to a heelhook applied by Rousimar Palhares roughly a minute into their bout. Before that, he displayed some ruggedness in taking a decision win from a fading Steve Cantwell at UFC 136.
Nick Denis swarmed all over Joe Sandoval back in January at UFC on FX: Guillard vs. Miller and finished him with some nasty elbows at the 0:22 second mark of the first round. Roland Delorme got a late rear naked choke on Josh Ferguson at the Ultimate Fighter 14 Finale back in January and is stepping in to replace the injured Johnny Bedford.
