Roy Nelson defeated Dave Herman via knockout (punch) at 51 seconds of the first round
Everyone knows that Roy Nelson has an extremely powerful right hand, and he used it to perfection tonight in his UFC 146 bout with Dave Herman. After a bit of a timid start, Nelson threw the right from the third row and completely flattened Herman, sending him slumping down into a sitting position and clearly out of it. After one more punch, it was over in just 51 seconds.
Herman protested the stop as he had popped up quickly, but it was pretty obvious he was out.
Nelson came into the bout looking to rebound from a decision loss to Fabricio Werdum in his last bout. Herman had a three-fight winning streak halted by fellow UFC 146 fighter Stefan Struve in his last bout, and will be desperately looking for a win in his next bout.
