One More Push For Ronda Rousey's Superstardom

Got love for Ronda Rousey? How could you not? U.S. Olympic Judo Bronze medalist, MMA phenom, champion, and just all-around cool lady is the new face Women's MMA, and one of the most impressive new stars of MMA as a whole. As fans, we all know her. Most of us love her style and fearless nature in the cage, which is more impressive when paired with her adherence to technique and fight I.Q. She is now primed to be an ambassador for the sport. So I'm proposing something simple. Let's make her a legit star.

Rousey has been present in various hearings promoting the legalization of MMA in New York state and for the push to prevent legislation that would be detrimental to fighters via contract structure in the state of California. She's become the one woman that has transcended past gender and is now training with men bringing her skills and knowledge, partially bridging the sport's gap between the sexes in the process.

Yet someone of her caliber and with her personality, someone that has accomplished what she has and has such an interesting story to tell - that's a person that deserves more.

Remember the Rally for Mark Hunt? Through social media, we accomplished recognition for a guy that fought his way back from the brink of unemployment. Granted, he worked for it himself. We just made him more famous and shone a light on the man even if he didn't get the nod to fight for the title like we wanted to.

Ronda is already a champion. Yet women in MMA don't get the respect that men do.

That's where we come in. Get on twitter and twitterbomb the fuck out of late night talk shows.

All of them. Leno, Letterman, Conan, Fallon - even Ferguson [he's undeniably fucking hilarious] or even Stewart or Colbert. Get her on The View or The Chew so she can hip toss Mario Batali. Anywhere but Maury or Springer. Let's use these talk show platforms to propel her even further and make her a household name. Her agent might get her on a sitcom or movie doing a bit part, but this is different. If you care about the sport and it's growth, we need to show that a young, intelligent, funny and hard-working [and yes, pretty] woman is in there making the best of it in the fastest-growing sport in the world. Let's use new media to influence old media in hopes of improving the image of the sport we love. If she does well, we all win.

If we can make a championship run for Mark Hunt somewhat plausible, we can use our resources to take the sport a few notches higher. It's free and it's worth it. Those of you that remember the Mark Hunt efforts will note that it was fucking hilarious in the process as well. So have fun with it!

Let's have some fun and do a good deed for a person, the sport, and the community as a whole. Remember - if we succeed even to a moderate degree, it will also reflect in a positive manner on MMA fandom as a whole to compensate for the Just Bleed lunkhead assholes.

Hit some people up with: #RallyforRonda, #slacktivismbyarmbar, #TeamBE

Let's roll the dice -and LET'S MUTHERFUKERS!! Rondarouseytshirt3_medium
