In a light heavyweight bout, Feijao made his return to the Strikeforce cage after seven months off. His opponent had also last fought at that very Strikeforce: Barnett vs. Kharitonov and looked to be hungry to prove his relevance in the LHW division.
Very early in the fight, Rafael "Feijao" Cavalcante hit Mike Kyle with a punch and then landed an enormous knee strike on a ducking Kyle. The knee stunned Kyle and Feijao applied a standing guillotine to his opponent.
Kyle tried to slam out of it, but to no avail. The tap came at 0:33 of the first round.
Feijao improves to 12-3 and avenges an earlier second round KO loss to Kyle back in 2009 at Strikeforce: Lawler vs. Shields. His knees, clinch work and short range finishing ability looks to be very tight.
Kyle drops to 19-9 and looks to be firmly in the wheelhouse of "Go Big Or Go Home" at this point.
