Igor Pokrajac ate a ton of punches to the body for 15 minutes but gave back what he got plus a little bit more, which was enough to pick up a unanimous decision victory in an absolute war of attrition with Fabio Maldonado. Fabio used his patented boxing to light Pokrajac up, but Igor used a solid thai clinch game and some seriously heavy shots to gain an edge. The 30-27 score is a little odd, but it was an awesome bout nonetheless.

He moved back to half guard and methodically looked to gain a more advantageous position. Pokrajac continually tried to pin an arm in half guard but was unable to trap it. He still landed a few strikes though. Maldonado finally escaped and Pokrajac ended up on his back, but Maldonado let him up. Maldonado opened up with his boxing and stunned Igor with some solid shots. Pokrajac landed a solid knee in the thai clinch while Maldonado boxed around it.

Back in the center, Igor finally started to defend well and landed shots of his own. Pokrajac looked to shoot, but Maldonado ended up on top to end the round.

They grinded away against the cage for 90 seconds, with Pokrajac landing a damaging flying knee before the ref separated them. Pokrajac landed a huge left hand on the reset, then two big shots against the cage. Maldonado looked to drag it to the floor but was unsuccessful. Fabio landed a nice left hook with a minute to go, but ate one right back with 40 seconds to go. They just straight out brawled down the stretch in a hell of a fight.
Maldonado was coming off a loss to Kyle Kingsbury last year, and had been out of the cage for a while. Pokrajac entered the bout on a two-fight winning streak.
