Just read that Strikeforce is coming to Portland on July 14th, and the card itself is pretty decent and is right in my area. I would love to go, but I really want to take my daughter with me. She is my partner in crime and my best friend, as it is we already go places together to watch the UFC events and she even has her favorites (BJ Penn, Ben Henderson, Shogun). Here’s my dilemma, she’s only 4 and a half years old. While she is no stranger to the sport and the violence that comes with it, I’m not sure if a live event would be too much for her. MMA crowds at a live event aren’t exactly the best behaved especially when you factor in the booze element. I’m sure I can do enough to shelter her from bloody bouts, but I worry that she will hear obnoxious fans saying inappropriate things and acting in a brash manner. It would be an amazing experience for me to take her with me to a live event, but is she too young for this? What are you thoughts my friends?
