To put it plainly, Akihiro Gono should be in any MMA Hall of Fame that is or ever will be. Gono fought people currently in MMA Halls of Fame, took on all challengers regardless of weight or rule set, and competed in every major promotion available during his 18 year career. Gono spans eras and is still only 37 years old. Respect goes out to this living legend, may he find as much success in his post MMA career as he had during it.

King Mo signs with two B-level promotions in Bellator and TNA Wrasslin'. There's been a lot of slow clapping going on for Lawal's decision to go this route instead of waiting out his suspension and signing with Zuffa. On one hand I think Lawal is doing the right thing by moving on from the last year's train wreck of injuries and bad PR. On the other hand, my perception is that he's throwing in the towel on his MMA future by not only dissing Zuffa, but taking the easy way out. I get it, he wants and needs the money just like everyone else but he's basically saying he would rather face inferior competition in both MMA and wrasslin' while playing up the "King Mo" persona for a better paycheck (btw, shouldn't it be King Mu?). Like his past decisions, it may come back to haunt him in a bad way since it seems short-sighted. Lawal is a grown ass man though and at 31 probably can't afford to miss out on his prime athletic earnings.
