Just a quick rumor confirmation for you guys. I have it on good authority that Muhammed Lawal and Julie Kedzie will be doing commentary with Mauro Ranallo for Invicta FC's debut event on April 28 in Kansas City at Memorial Hall.

The event is a well matched card of 12 fights, featuring several top level females. Headlining the card will be former Strikeforce bantamweight champion, Marloes Coenen, who will be taking on a very tough opponent in Romy Ruyssen. The event will stream live, and free in HD from the Invicta FC website. It won't be the first all female card, but it is on it's way to gaining more exposure than any of it's predecessors. With the addition of "King" Mo and Kedzie, the entertainment factor just increased 10 fold.

I'll be confirming this with Invicta president, Shannon Knapp, so make sure to keep your eyes peeled for our coverage.

Update: Rumor confirmed. I just spoke with Shannon Knapp and got an official statement.

"I can confirm the rumor. King Mo and Julie Kedzie will be in the commentary booth with Mauro Ranallo. We'll make a more formal announcement this week. You just happened to beat us to it [laughs]."

I asked Shannon if there would be any more surprises in store, and she had this to say,

"We do have a couple more announcements that will be seeping out over the next couple weeks, but nothing that I can talk about right at this point. I think there will be some good surprises that are coming up with new relationships in business that we're developing."
