The UFC has announced another bout for UFC 149 in Calgary, this one in the lightweight division. Canadian Mitch Clarke will be looking for his first UFC win when he faces off with Finnish fighter Anton Kuivanen. The news was confirmed via the official Canadian UFC twitter account:
Clarke (9-1) was undefeated when he stepped into the octagon for the first time at UFC 140, but he suffered the first loss of his career when John Cholish stopped him by second-round TKO. Kuivanen (16-5) is looking for his first UFC win as well, dropping his only bout by decision to Justin Salas at UFC on Fuel 1. The bout is expected to take place on the preliminary card.
The main event on July 21st will see UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo defend his title against an opponent to be named.
