Here is another great debutant that will fight at UFC : Sweden, 14th of April. Magnus "Jycken" Cedenblad (His nickname is Swedish for the pooch" lost his two first professional fights in Finland, but since then he has gone 10-1 and his only loss is to a fast rising prospect Mats Nilsson. It took a while for him to get comfortable with his weightclass, having to fight bigger and stronger opponents he dropped down the middleweight and have found great success.
He comes from Stockholm, and have so far competed mostly in local shows such as Superior Challenge. Cedenblad have expressed in the past the lack of hard and elite sparring in Sweden, so in order to really progress in his game and develop as a mixed martial artist he had to go somewhere else. Last couple of years he have been making visits to Greg Jacksons, AKA and Alliance. Training with the likes of Rashad Evans, Jon Jones, Cain Velasquez, Daniel Cormier, Josh Koscheck, Jon Fitch, Mike Swick, Fukida, Josh Thompson, Alexander Gustafsson, Jörgen Kruth.
"He gave me a really hard time, he is a really good fighter" - Jon Jones
Magnus Cedenblad flew over the big pond and tried out for The Ultimate Fighter 13 reality show and he felt and was told that he did very well, and that he was probably going to make it into the show. Unfortunately they went with the welterweights instead of the middleweights that also tried out.
I couldnt find too much of his fights in good video on YouTube because Superior Challenge have chosen to remove them. He have shown really huge improvements since going to the US training, and is the definition of well rounded. Great stand up game, his ground n pound is brutal and he's a really smart submission fighter. I'm certain he will stay in the UFC for a long time, with great fights. But first up is the Georges st. Pierre student Francis Carmont.
