As the long downtime between UFC events comes to a close, the matches are being set for fighters as far ahead as June. At the UFC on FX 4 event, which will be headlined by Clay Guida and Gray Maynard, we have news of an additional bout to be added to the card:
At the same event on June 22, always-exciting bantamweight contenders Edwin Figueroa and Ken Stone have verbally agreed to meet.
Figueroa (9-1) won a split decision over Alex Caceres at UFC 143, a back and forth fight notable for its low blows and the unusual two point deduction referee Herb Dean charged to Caceres for the low blows. Stone (10-3) dominated Donny Walker at UFC Fight Night: Shields vs. Ellenberger and got the technical submission with a rear naked choke midway through the first round. However, an injury sidelined him until now. Both fighters are looking to keep their winning ways going and to climb up the divisional ladder towards the top and towards fighting champion Dominic Cruz.
The Atlantic City, New Jersey event now features four welterweight bouts, three lightweight, two featherweight, one bantamweight and one middleweight for a total of eleven fights.
