Former Strikeforce middleweight champion Jake Shields has stated a few times since his win over Yoshihiro Akiyama at UFC 144 that he'd like to move back to 185. Well he's getting his wish, and he's getting a tough opponent in his return to the division - Ed Herman. Dana White tweeted about the UFC 150 bout a little while ago:

As mentioned above, Shields (27-6-1) is coming off a win over former middleweight Akiyama in February. He was 2-2 at 170 in the UFC, but clearly felt that his skills were better suited for 185. Herman has been a beast since he came back from injury, stopping three straight opponents in the first half of their respective bouts. His last win came over Clifford Starks at UFC 143.

The bout is likely to be on the main card of the Denver event. The expected main event will see Ben Henderson rematch Frankie Edgar for the UFC lightweight title.
