Bellator Middleweight champion Hector Lombard, newly signed to the UFC as of last week, has tweeted an unusual request: "Can we make a random drug test before my fight???"

Lombard, an extremely well-muscled 185 pounder, is apparently responding to the controversy surrounding UFC Heavyweight and former Strikeforce, Dream and K-1 champ Alistair Overeem who has struggled with drug testing since joining the UFC.

Overeem first drew the ire of the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) when he left the country and missed a surprise urine test before his UFC 141 bout with Brock Lesnar. He was eventually able to secure a conditional license to fight after passing a urine test and enduring a hearing a few weeks later.

But Overeem's luck ran out when he failed a drug test on March 27 after a press conference to promote his Heavyweight title fight at UFC 146. After trying to leave the press conference untested, Overeem pissed hot with a 14:1 testosterone:epitestosterone ratio. The limit in Nevada is 6:1.

The NSAC has refused to license Overeem for 9 months and he is missing UFC 146.

Lombard is expected to face Brian Stann in his UFC debut.

Lombard's tweet is after the jump...

Lombard, a naturalized Australian citizen, competed on the 2000 Cuban Olympic Judo team.
