Dana White is well-known for answering questions from fans on twitter, and he confirmed a big light heavyweight bout in response to a twitter question today. People have been wondering who Mauricio "Shogun" Rua was going to face since his rematch with Quinton "Rampage" Jackson was scrapped. It turns out that it will be another Brazilian - Thiago Silva. Here is Dana's tweet:
Shogun (20-6) has been on the sidelines since his war with Dan Henderson at UFC 139. He dropped that bout by close decision, but is still a top contender in the division. Silva (14-3, 1 NC) returned from an athletic commission suspension to face Alexander Gustafsson at UFC on Fuel last month, but dropped a decision. No date or location has been announced for the bout yet.
UPDATE - According to a report, the bout is being targeted for UFC 149 on July 21st in Calgary.
