UFC 145: Jones vs. Evans Poster by Anton Tabuena
As with every major show, Bloody Elbow will be here to bring you live results, play by play and commentary for UFC 145: Jones vs. Evans. Our live coverage will start with the two fights on the Facebook prelim stream (7 p.m. ET) to the prelim card on FX (8 p.m. ET) and through the PPV main card (10 p.m. ET) so make sure to make Bloody Elbow your home for this event.
This post will cover live results and thoughts for the Facebook and FX undercard.
Serving as the undercard "headline" is a heavyweight bout between former Strikeforce Cinderella story, Chad Griggs and up-and-coming Travis Browne. Welterweight prospect Stephen Thompson looks to take a big step up in competition in only his second UFC bout as he takes on Matt Brown. A lightweight bout between John Makdessi and Anthony Njokuani had to be changed to a 158 pound catchweight bout after some unprofessional weight issues for Makdessi. Former Ultimate Fighter winners meet when lightweights Mac Danzig and Efrain Escudero step into the cage.
Make sure to come back during the event and share your thoughts as the event goes down.
Marcus Brimage vs. Maximo Blanco - Round 1 - Head kick by Blanco just misses. Brimage is circling on the outside and occasionally flashes a jab or left as he steps in but he's nowhere near at distance. Brimage with a straight left that gets in. Brimage catches a kick and fires a punch back. Now Brimage with a nice combination, solid left hand landed in the middle of it. Another good shot lands by Brimage and he's much quicker looking here and is getting in, landing and getting out now that he figured out distance. Takedown by Blanco but Brimage bounces right back to his feet. Blanco doesn't look ready for this fight. 10-9 Brimage.
Round 2 - Brimage landing some hard punches, after a hard right by Brimage, Rogan and Goldberg talk about Blanco landing a hard shot. Not sure what I missed. Big jumping knee by Blanco. Brimage with a punch, lands again and Blanco falls to the mat but is back up. Left hand by Brimage lands again. Front kick to the face by Blanco but a left lands for Brimage. Close round with 2 minutes left. Good shot by Blanco but Brimage does land in return. Good combination by Brimage finished with a kick to the leg. Right hand by Blanco lands now. Very close round but I'll go 10-9 Blanco making it even.
Round 3 -Right hand by Blanco, counter by Brimage. I had some hitching on my Facebook stream so I'm missing a bit of action here. Leg kick by Brimage. Blanco goes for the takedown, it's stuffed but Blanco does land a punch. Nice flurry by Brimage now. Boos from the crowd as things slow down. Brimage with big pressure and furries that might not be landing much, but they're probably making an impression on the judges. Nice flurry by Brimage after defending against a takedown attempt. 10-9 Brimage for me.
They joke around doing some jogging and cartwheels/flips and lauch at each other. It's...whatever.
Official Scorecards: 29-28 Blanco, 30-27 Brimage, 29-28 Brimage Marcus Brimage wins by split decision.
Chris Clements vs. Keith Wisniewski - Round 1 - Leg kick by Clements. Right hand by Clements now. Another right and a slapping left after a leg kick. Takedown by Wisniewski and he's in side control. Elbows off his back by Clements. Wisniewski gets the mount, almost takes the back, he's bleeding badly from those elbows. Wisniewski in half guard, both guys working hard and the referee threatens to stand them up? Really? Elbows by Wisniewski now. Huge elbow to the jaw now. Horrible stand-up by the ref. Rogan is pissed about the stand-up, repeatedly calling it "nonsense." Right on, Joe. Both men land hard right hands. Big right to the exposed chin by Clements. Right hand by Wisniewski though. Big right and a left by Clements. Spinning back kick by Clements crumbles Wisniewski to the ground. Clements tries to follow but can't get the finish, anoth body shot by Clements. That knockdown and flurry at the end won the round for Clements in my eyes 10-9.
Round 2 - They trade huge shots but Wisniewski guts through eating some big shots, getting a takedown into half guard. Clements eats a few shots but does manage to get to his feet. Big spinning backfist by Clements on the exit and tries for the spinning back kick again. Wisniewski with a nice combination and a huge overhand right by Clements. Big body shot by Clements. Clements to the body again and looks for a takedown. Takedown by Wisniewski though and he ends up on the back in the scramble.Clement is battling the choke well so far. Punch by Wisniewski. Huge backward elbows by Clement and Wisniewski is hurt. That was incredible. Round ends and I guess I'll go with Wisniewski for positioning to even things at a round a piece.
Round 3 - Weird backhand by Clements and Wisniewski drives through it, looking for the takedown. Clements tries for a takedown of his own, and that doesn't work. They're back to distance on the feet with Clements landing a leg kick. Big right hand and a left by by Clements. Clements is opening up big here. He's landing but Wisniewski's chin is holding up very well. Wisniewski is showing a hell of an ability to take a punch, but that's not really a good thing in the third round of a close fight. Another hard right by Clements, and another. Wisniewski finally decides he needs to get a takedown again and looks to lock up. Clements turns and lands a big elbow though. Body shot by Clements hurts Wisniewski badly again. Spinning backfist and a big knee and Wisniewski is down. Body shot by Clements, Wisniewski looking for a leg but Clements is pounding away with punches. 10-9 Clements, I can't see any way he lost this fight.

Round 2 - Danzig out to center of the cage quickly. Good knees to the legs and body in the clinch by Danzig. Good body shot, uppercut and body shot by Danzig. Good leg kick by Danzig. Uppercut by Escudero. Strange round fought mostly in the clinch and at distance where not much happened. Danzig doing the majority of the good work in the clinch probably has him ahead with a minute left. Danzig works well to the body in the clinch again. Danzig defends against a takedown attempt by Escudero (trying the lame "round steal"). 10-9 Danzig.
Round 3 - They say before the round that Danzig's ankle was badly damaged by the leg lock in the first round, but he's moving well and lands a very good combination. Danzig pushing him back into the cage. The camera is showing some the damage to Danzig's ankle and it's VERY swollen. Him fighting through this is crazy impressive. Nice combination by Escudero. Danzig shoots but can't get the takedown, but he does have the clinch against the cage again. Danzig continuing to work in the clinch but a pointless separation by the ref. Right hand by Danzig and a body shot after. Another body shot. Danzig's use of body work is very solid. 10-9 Danzig again for the sweep in my eyes.
