Melvin Guillard vs Fabricio Camoes at UFC 148

The once self-proclaimed best lightweight fighter in the world, Melvin Guillard, will return to action against another submission specialist named Fabricio Camoes at UFC 148.

UFC 148 is expected to go down on July 7 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV. In the headlining fight UFC champion Dominick Cruz will attempt to defend his title for a second time against Urijah Faber.

After being considered a top contender in the UFC’s 155 pound division, Greg Jackson trained Melvin Guillard finds himself in a must win situation after dropping his most recent two bouts to Joe Lauzon and Jim Miller.

The UFC matchmaking department has put him up against a submission specialist yet again in the form of Team Black House fighter, Fabricio Camoes.

Camoes comes into the fight on the heels of a UFC on FX 1 victory over Tommy Hayden. The 3rd degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu will no doubt look to bring Guillard to the mat and expose the same weakness in his game as his previous foes.
