The "featured prelim" bout sees Sarah Kaufman and Alexis Davis meet in a fight that should determine the next challenger for the Strikeforce women's bantamweight championship. Two of the promotion's top up-and-coming lightweights meet when Caros Fodor clashes with Pat Healy. The card is rounded out by a lightweight bout between Ryan Couture and Conor Heun and a welterweight fight featuring Roger Bowling and Brandon Saling.

Showtime Extreme is live and the first fight is upcoming.
Conor Heun vs. Ryan Couture - Round 1 - Couture moving around a bit early and throws a leg kick. Body kick by Heun. Couture lands a two punch combination. Couture pushes him to the cage and knees to the legs a bit and Heun lands an elbow on the escape. Leg kick by Couture. Body punch by Couture. Right hand by Couture and Heun with a takedown but Couture attacks so Heun slams him to the mat. Scramble back to the feet and Heun takes him down again. Couture does manage to get up eventually and eats a knee. Right hand by Couture. Heun has some bad swelling under his eye. 10-9 Couture.
Round 2 - Heun misses a spinning kick and lands a leg kick afterward. Anklepick by Huen then throws a head kick as Couture stands up and lands a few punches. Couture just looking to stay outside an pop him. Heun with another takedown now and Couture is looking to take an arm. Heun landing elbows to the body. Couture gets a warning for grabbing the shorts but does regain guard. Couture looking for an armbar but can't get it. Heun looking to lock up a center choke now but can't finish it. Couture looking for a takedown of his own and he gets it. Now he transitions to the back but Heun gets to his feet. Heun pulls rubber guard. 10-9 Couture.
Round 3 - Couture stalking forward and landing a few punches, now a good straight right and a leg kick. Couture is on top on the ground now and Heun is looking to take an arm but Couture passes to mount. Just some awful grappling on display now and Heun gives up his back. Couture landing some punches as he flattens him out now. Heun is doing nothing and the fight is over. Ryan Couture wins by TKO (punches), 2:52 of round 3.
Caros Fodor vs. Pat Healy - Round 1 - They exchange and Healy drives right in looking for the takedown but Fodor is defending well and landing some elbows. Healy keeping him pushed into the cage but not doing a ton. Fodor with a series of punches that really buzz Healy. Fodor gets the takedown and lands a nice elbow. Nice punches and elbows continuing from Fodor. Healy finds an escape, gets to his feet and now gets a takedown. Fodor looking to work his legs up but nothing there and Healy landing a few short punches. Close round but I'd go 10-9 Fodor for actually stunning Healy on the feet and doing more damage on the ground..
Round 2 - Healy tries for a takedown early but Fodor defending well. Healy really pushing for the takedown and Fodor using good balance but Healy is driving through it and has Fodor down sitting against the cage. Fodor does get back to his feet but Healy drags him right back down and lands an elbow. Healy just using that grinding style to land some short punches and he's into side control. Healy to mount now but Fodor hips out. 10-9 Healy.
Round 3 - They're trading on the feet a bit early and Fodor with a nice short right hand and a left hook. Healy gets the takedown now. Healy gets full mount quickly now. Fodor regains half guard. Healy has his arm trapped and lands a few punches. Healy now looking to lock up an arm triangle but Fodor gets out and is attacking the leg but he moves back to mount and back to the arm triangle and it's very tight. Fodor has no choice but to tap out. Pat Healy wins by submission (arm triangle choke), round 3.
Roger Bowling vs. Brandon Saling - Round 1 - Bowling with a leg kick and now he lands a series of hard punches, clinches up and looks for the takedown. They're trading and both men are landing as neither is defending. There they go again and Saling is landing hard. Bowling was hurt but now he comes back and gets the takedown. Bowling looks for the armbar but can't get it. Now Saling is firing away. Saling is getting the better of these punches. Bowling has him down in side control now. Bowling locks up the crucifix now and is landing a lot of punches and elbows. 10-9 Bowling.
Round 2 - Quickly Bowling back to the takedown, crucifix and punches and elbows away until the ref jumps in to stop the fight. Roget Bowling wins by TKO (punches), 1:15 of round 2.
Sarah Kaufman vs. Alexis Davis - Round 1 - They trade punches briefly with Davis getting the better of the exchange early but Kaufman tags her back with a nice right hand. Both women land hard shots and now it's Kaufman who has taken the exchanges over and Davis' face is showing some heavy damage. Head kick by Davis just misses but a knee to the body does not. The ref stops the fight briefly to check the bad swelling and cut over Davis' left eye but they do allow it to continue. Kaufman continues to tag her and target the cut, but Davis is firing back with good shots of her own. She lands a big elbow and Kaufman is pouring blood now. Great round! 10-9 Kaufman.
Round 2 - Kaufman was able to do good work for the first half of the round from outside but Davis still landed her own strikes and kept looking for her elbows to land. Kaufman working jabs and hooks but Davis re-locking the single tie and letting right hands go. Another good round but 10-9 Kaufman. (apologies for the lack of called action here as my internet blipped).
Round 3 - After more brawling, Davis is able to score the takedown about two minutes into the round. Davis in side control trying to attack but Kaufman is defending. Davis tries to take an armbar but Kaufman defends well and manages to get on top. Davis sweeps her back. Davis working ground and pound and just wearing her down. Davis tries to mount but can't quite advance the position but she does land more punches. Davis can't get the finish but does clearly win that round 10-9. Great, great fight and I'd go 29-28 Kaufman.
Official Scorecards: 29-29, 29-28, 29-28 Sarah Kaufman wins by majority decision.
