The UFC is attempting to book a fight for UFC 149 that both fighters should definitely be happy with. One would get to fight in his hometown of Calgary, and the other would get the chance to avenge a controversial (exhibition) loss. MMA Weekly has the info:
A rematch from Ultimate Fighter season 11 is headed to Calgary as Nick Ring will face Court McGee on the UFC 149 fight card.
According to AMR Group when speaking to MMAWeekly.com, who represent Court McGee, the fight has been offered but no bout agreements have been issued yet for the July fight.
Ring (12-1) defeated McGee (13-2) by a close majority decision on TUF 11, and the two were set to rematch in the quarter-finals when McGee was allowed back into the house. Ring was forced out by injury though, and McGee went on to win the competition. Both are coming off losses in their last UFC bouts, so it's a logical fight for both.
The bout is expected to take place on the preliminary card. The main event on July 21st will see Jose Aldo defend his UFC featherweight title against an opponent to be named soon.
