Just when you think the flurry of fight announcements might be dying down a bit, the UFC goes and announces three more bouts for UFC on FX 4 on June 22nd. And all three just happen to be in the welterweight division. Here we go again with this UFC.com stuff:
Two welterweight bouts will pit the best of Brazil against home-grown talent. Matthew Riddle, who grew up one state over in Allentown, Pennsylvania, will take on Luis "Beicao" Ramos. Plus, Jersey boy Dan Miller will drop to welterweight for the first time in his UFC career for a fight against Ricardo Funch.
Riddle (5-3) is coming off a close split-decision win over late replacement Henry Martinez at UFC 143, while Beicao is looking to rebound from his August TKO loss to Erick Silva. Miller (13-6, 1 NC) will make the drop to 170 after a 5-5 stint at middleweight in the UFC over the last few years. He is currently on a two-fight losing streak, the last coming to Rousimar Palhares at UFC 134 in an odd bout. Funch (8-3) is looking for his first win in four UFC opportunities.
Perhaps the most interesting bout pits brief contender Story against Attonito. Story (13-5) has lost two bouts in a row after running off six straight wins over the likes of Johny Hendricks and Thiago Alves, and he'll look to return to the win column against Attonito (10-5), who was stopped by Jake Hecht in his last bout at UFC 140.
