Join us here at Bloody Elbow at 2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT for live video and coverage of a "special announcement" by the UFC in Calgary, Alberta. The announcement is widely expected to be a confirmation of UFC 149 taking place in the city on July 21st. UFC president Dana White and Director of Canadian Operations Tom Wright will be on site for the press conference, which is open to the public.

The event is expected to take place in the Scotiabank Saddledome. This will be the eighth time the UFC has come north of the border, with events taking place in Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver. Last's years UFC 129 event in Toronto was nominated as "Event of the Year" by the Sports Business Journal.
While it is somewhat unlikely that White and Wright will be announcing any fights for the show at this point, you can expect a strong Canadian contingent on the card, including Calgarian Nick Ring.
