This post will cover live results and thoughts for the FX main card fights.

This interesting evening of fights is headlined by a welterweight bout between Thiago Alves and Martin Kampmann. Also on the card is the first round of the four man tournament to crown the first ever UFC flyweight (125 pound) champion. Ian McCall faces Demetrious Johnson in one fight while the other sees Joseph Benavidez fighting Yasuhiro Urushitani. Opening the night's main card action is a middleweight fight between Court McGee and Constantinos Philippou.

Make sure to come back during the event and share your thoughts as the event goes down.

The FX broadcast is live. First fight up shortly.

Court McGee vs. Costa Philippou - Round 1 - McGee trying to walk him down. Costa is circling and not engaging so McGee tags him with an overhand right after he wades in. Costa with a nice combination that halts McGee for a few but now McGee walks forward and lands another shot. Costa is looking to just unload with a big right hand and other than that is circling a lot and getting the crowd to boo. Costa with a nice left hand. Body shot by Costa. The problem for McGee is that he isn't really finding much success of his own so even when Costa is circling, he's not taking any punishment. Nice right hand by Costa now. Left hand by McGee causes Costa to slip near the end of the round. 10-9 Philippou.

Round 2 - Hard left hook by Costa makes McGee go backward a bit. They trade comginations but Costa gets the better of the exchange. Big right hand by Costa lands hard and McGee needs to figure out something different. Hard left hook by Costa. McGee just keeps walking forward and Costa is picking when to engage and is never in danger. Big uppercut by Costa and a hard knee. McGee trying to get a takedown now. McGee landing leg kicks but beyond that mostly just eating punches. Another hard uppercut by Costa. 10-9 Costa.

Round 3 - Costa light on his feet and landing a left hook. In my eyes he just needs to not get finished or take enough of a beating to be a 10-8 round and he should win this. Court amost gets a takedown, then almost locks up a guillotine but Costa just lifts him up and pushes him away. McGee with a head kick that gets blocked. Nice left hand by Costa after Court landed a hard leg kick. Two jabs by Costa and McGee misses a spinning back elbow. Hard leg kick by Costa and there's one minute left. McGee can't get the takedown again and Costa lands a left. Court closes the round with a few more strikes. 10-9 Costa again.

Official Scorecards: 29-28 across the board. Costa Philippou wins by unanimous decision.

Demetrious Johnson vs. Ian McCall - Round 1 - A lot of movement early and Johnson clearly doesn't want to get drawn into a shootout. McCall shoots in and gets a takedown of his own and he has Johnson down and is landing some punches. Johnson manages to turn him but McCall gets right back up. Johnson lands a right hand, McCall fires back with a combination. Hard right hand by McCall. Another takedown by McCall and he's in Johnson's half guard but Johnson does stand up. McCall with a right hand. McCall slips away from Johnson's right hand. Now Johnson shoots, has the leg and lands a big right hand that hurt McCall badly. McCall recovers quickly and they trade shots. McCall stuffs a takedown attempt by Johnson now. Johnson with a little flurry but McCall blocks the head kick. 10-9 McCall in my eyes, but very close.

Round 2 -Johnson tries to get the single leg, McCall defends and lands some punches, Johnson fires back and they trade but it's Johnson that has to back off in the exchange. Hard leg kicks by McCall now. McCall throws a leg kick but it catches the cup of Johnson. Nice body kick by Johnson. Now a hard body kick. Both men landing hard punches. They exchange against the cage and both men land elbows, McCall with a good knee and Johnson with another hard elbow. McCall doing a little work in the clinch now. Nice body kick by Johnson. Almost a takedown by McCall but he couldn't finish it. 10-9 Johnson, but another close round.

Round 3 - Early low blow by Johnson, ref doesn't stop it so Johnson tags him with a few shots. Johnson with a knee but McCall catches him and gets the takedown. Elbow by McCall, and another. Johnson manages to roll back to standing. McCall ducks under a Johnson punch, takes the back and suplexes him to the ground. McCall now takes Johnson's back and flattens him out. McCall gives up the back. Johnson stands and McCall can't slam him back down. Front kick by Johnson. McCall gets another takedown now and he should have just iced the fight. McCall has mount and is teeing off and tagging Johnson. 10-8 round for McCall.

Official Scorecards: 29-28 McCall, 29-28 Johnson, 29-28 Johnson

Correction: Scores were announced incorrectly. 29-28 29-28 Johnson and 29-28 Johnson were the correct scores for a Johnson win by Majority Decision.

Joseph Benavidez vs. Yasuhiro Urushitani - Round 1 - Going with "Yasu" for the name here just to make it easy on myself. A lot of feeling out for the majority of the first minute. Benavidez just walking forward throwing kicks. Benavidez lands a knee as Yasu stands up after a near throw takedown. Benavidez puts him into the cage and looks for the single leg. Benavidez just muscles his way through the takedown and is on top in Yasu's half guard. Elbows by Benavidez. Benavidez uses a guillotine threat to pass to mount, now takes the back. Benavidez almost finishes a rear naked choke but the round ends. 10-9 Benavidez.

Round 2 - Huge right by Benavidez and Urushitani drops and Benavidez pounces with a flurry of punches and that'll do it. Joseph Benavidez wins by TKO (punches), 0:11 round 2.

Martin Kampmann vs. Thiago Alves - Round 1 - Alves is stalking as expected and he lands a jab and hard leg kick. Another hard leg kick in an exchange by Alves. Kampmann with a few nice punches and now drives forward for a takedown. Kampmann gives up the single leg, goes to a sweep but Alves is up in roughly a second. Front kick to the face by Kampmann and Alves is hurt badly. Kampmann follows him with strikes, takes him down and lands punches. Alves stands up and eats a huge knee to the face. Now Alves with a big takedown. Alves passes to side control. Alves manages to pass to mount when it looked like Kampmann was working for a sweep. Alves tries to finally throw some punches and Kampmann escapes to standing. 10-9 Kampmann as a near KO beats a mount wher enothing happens in my world but sure the judges will give that to Alves.

Round 2 - Kampmann looking to try to walk forward but Alves is landing hard combinations. Now Kampmann is trying for a takedown again. Kampmann has to give up on the single leg. Alves' leg kicks are very sharp today, a call back to the better days of his career. Big right hand by Alves and now Kampmann with a hard right hand. Alves has just been much better this round. 10-9 Alves.

Round 3 - Hard leg kick by Alves lands. Kampmann comes forward with some punches and now looks for the takedown. Kampmann still getting picked apart here by Alves. Nice right hand late int he round by Alves. Alves looks for the takedown for...some reason and Kampmann takes the guillotine and finishes Alves with the choke in the last minute of the fight! Oh my! That was out of nowhere. Just a miserably poor decision by Alves to go for the takedown there. Martin Kampmann wins by submission (guillotine choke), 4:12 of round 3.
