The UFC made their return to Fuel TV official Thursday, announcing UFC on Fuel 3 for Tuesday, May 15, in Fairfax, Virginia, headlined by a fight between two top featherweight contenders.
Dustin Poirier will face Chan Sung Jung (aka the "Korean Zombie") in the main event with the winner expected to be among the short list of top contenders for UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo.
Poirier (12-1, 4-0 UFC) has been flawless in dispatching nearly everyone he's faced and steps up in competition against Jung (12-3, 1-1 UFC) who is best known for his battles with Leonard Garcia and his six second knockout of Mark Hominick in December.
The UFC also made the following fights official:
- Donald Cerrone vs. Jeremy Stephens
- Jason MacDonald vs. Tom Lawlor
- Igor Pokrajac vs. Thiago Silva
- Mike Easton vs. Yves Jabouin
This will be the UFC's first event in Fairfax since January 2010. Tickets range from a high of $229 to a low of $44 with an average price of $120.
