Igor Pokrajac was left without an opponent for a few days, but he has one now. Fabio Maldonado has stepped in to replace Thiago Silva and will meet Pokrajac at UFC on Fuel 3 on May 15th. Silva was moved over to the main event of UFC on Fuel 2 when Antonio Rogerio Nogueira was sidelined with an injury. The booking was confirmed by Tatame (article in Portuguese).
The 31-year-old Maldonado (18-4) is 1-1 in the UFC, and hasn't competed since dropping a memorable decision to Kyle Kingsbury at The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale last June. He was scheduled to compete at UFC on Versus 6 and UFC 142, but was forced off of both cards with injuries. Pokrajac (25-7) is currently on a two-fight win streak, with wins over Todd Brown and Krzysztof Soszynski. He is 3-3 in the UFC overall.
The bout is expected to take place on the main card.
