Rafael dos Anjos tangles with Gleison Tibau at UFC 139. Imaga via Esther Lin of MMA Fighting
Two rugged lightweights will look to get back on the winning track in Virginia on May 15th. One is still looking for his first win the UFC, while the other is looking to regain the momentum he had following a return from injury. UFC.com has it:
Wrestler/brawler Kamal ‘Prince of Persia’ Shalorus will meet BJJ black belt/brawler Rafael Dos Anjos.
Shalous (7-2-2) entered the UFC undefeated and was given a huge test in his debut against Jim Miller. He was finished in the third round via strikes. He made his return against UFC rookie Khabib Nurmagomedov, but once again came up short, getting submitted in the second round. Dos Anjos (15-6) returned from a broken jaw at UFC 132 with an aweome knockout of George Sotiropoulos in less than a minute, but dropped a narrow split decision to Gleison Tibau at UFC 139 in November.
The bout is expected to take place on the preliminary card.
