I was at the Troxy watching this fight live, too.
Nobody was expecting much from this fight as it was on the preliminaries, but a few seconds into Michael’s fight, eveyone was saying: “Holy shit! This kid is the next Anderson f**king Silva!” – I hope that his next fight is equally as impressive. The guy is ultra talented and has some crazy skills.

I think it was stopped a little early though I think it was more out of sympathy than anything. His opponent looked incredibly bad
StevenGiles is a huge MMA fan and also happens to be the best person in the world. He is also hugely pretentious and loves to have sigs that make a lame effort at exaggerating his own importance
There really is a lot to be said for staying THAT relaxed in a fight
(Obviously, this guy had a butt load of talent to begin with too)
Watching someone talk trash is a two sided coin
Either he talks a bunch of trash, hams it up and backs it up
Or he gets destroyed while doing it.
Either way I feel like I win, so I don’t understand the annoyance.

But I like people who have skill and have confidence in their abilities and an attitude to back it up. If they get fired up and talking it up then allright.
Not people who have skill and confidence in their abilities and have a shitty attitude and rub it in other’s faces and/or simply act like a jackass.
To me, there’s a line between being part of the sport of it and just straight up being a jackass. I’m fine with a healthy amount of it, played basketball and football for years and it was ever there. It can be fun to a degree.
This guy wasn’t super over the top, but he started to just come across as a d-bag to me. Worse, for example, is the crap the Diaz’s do in the cage. I absolutely hate that. They both just comes across as straight up punks. I don’t like nor root for d-bags or punks.

Apparently Page is a krotty/TKD style full contact kickboxer.
Couldn’t find a kickboxing record for him, just a lot of sites claiming him as a “world champ.” Still, pretty cool to see that kind of style be successful in MMA. Would like to see him against a better opponent next.

Personally, I like to see contrasting styles in mma fights. Putting two guys who do the same thing together is the same as any other sport. Could just go watch kickboxing if that’s what you want, you know what I mean? Not that there aren’t good fights out of it sometimes, I just like the style vs style thing more.
