While I can see the reasoning behind this approach, I have often found that gyms like this aren’t the most pleasant environments to work in. For most people, a large part of training is the strong social aspect, and punching a guy in the mouth because you paused to answer his question is likely to remove this.

It was not pleasant
And yes, LOTS of people dropped out.
But if you were there for a year, and you were a hard worker, he knew, that you knew what to expect and what kind of school it was.
It was the best experience of my life training there for 2+ years, and I’d be there today if I hadn’t moved across the country.
