Oh get the heck out of here with this Kalib Starnes bullhonkey
Have you watched Kalib Starnes vs Nate Quarry? No?! Well allow me to enlighten you!
Yeah, not even close to Condit vs Diaz. Let's stop taking away from Condit's accomplishment. He just leapfrogged his way up the rankings through a fantastic strategy, and now gets to fight GSP at some point, if he doesn't decide to put his interim belt on the line. It was a good fight, and is a good example of how strategy is king in the world of fighting.

I just don’t get it. Two of the most exciting fighters in the Ufc produce a boring ass fight.
Fuck you, double fingers
- Nick Diaz
Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society

Actually I've experienced that quite alot.
Two great, exciting fighters head to head often produces the opposite.
The expectation and build up (from the media and in my own head) just makes it worse.
I thought
the fight was pretty entertaining.

I thought that was a technical showcase for Condit
But that fight needed to go two more rounds. Jesus those guys are in great shape.
I thought Lay N Pray was a stupid insult until I watched Tyrone Woodly fight.
Boring? I thought it was a great fight. Then again, I’m not eating sour grapes like many.

I think great is a stretch
but, it definitely was entertaining. And the complaining reeks of those grapes for sure.

Cardio
Actually, it was an example of how great cardio can win a fight. Gotta be in fantastic shape to run away for 25 minutes, inflict damage for half a round and almost get submitted to be given a gift 49-46 by judges who were obviously watching figure skating!

I suppose when diaz cornered condit
carlos was just supposed to stand still and wing punches wildly? Are those the rules of mma?
Because I saw a smart fighter refusing to be bullied into the cage, and another fighter who couldn’t adjust when his only weapon (scraps on the cage) was taken away.

People keep saying that Carlos was running, Diaz was chasing him down.
That’s one viewpoint. The other viewpoint is that Condit was the matador, drawing Diaz into charging in, side- stepping him and stinging him with a variety of sharp strikes.
The direction of movement doesn’t matter to me, so much as who is accomplishing more does.

There was a point
starting at the fourth where Diaz was the one back peddling. Funny how people don’t bring that up.
Carlos clearly controlled the octagon.

Condit fought a smart fight and won
Half the forum is bitching about how Condit ran away but still managed to win, but why the heck should he fight Nick Diaz’s fight?
Bob Arum thinks I'm a white Nazi skinhead even though I'm a brown grad student (with hair)
WOW
I’m SHOCKED to see some people think Diaz won that fight. Condit landed more punches, more often, with better technique over and over and over. He only “ran” when he was backed into the cage. Did you see what Diaz did to BJ Penn when he had his back against the cage? It would’ve been stupid to try and trade with his back against the cage. He circled off the cage, went back to the middle, and punished Diaz repeatedly. Diaz should’ve taken him down. I’m a HUUUUUUUGE Diaz fan and I thought Condit EASILY won 49-46. Any other score is very hard to justify. Diaz never hurt Condit and Condit hit him with beautiful crisp combos in every round. I’ve watched it 3 times now and I can’t see giving Diaz any round but the last. I feel like I’m taking crazy pills!!

dude, you should read the comments in the live results.
People had laughable takes on that fight. I loved both fighters and didn’t want either to lose, so I felt pretty unbiased. I had Diaz by decision going in. But Condit was the one controlling that fight, Nick was just walking forward, and his TOTAL LACK OF FUCKING AWARENESS THAT HIS GAMEPLAN WASN"T WORKING TILL THE FINAL MINUTES OF THE FIGHT IS WHY HE LOST!!!
If he gets that takedown a minute and a half earlier, we’d be looking at SOTN.
I thought Lay N Pray was a stupid insult until I watched Tyrone Woodly fight.
Diaz landed more in round 2, and rounds 1 and 3 were close.
Saying it was easily 49-46 and closing all discussion on it, is taking a very narrow view on things. And Condit never hurt Diaz either. And I agree, the “Condit ran” argument is bullshit.
Together we are Ruining Your Special Night. Twice.
What am I looking at?
Diaz outlanded Condit 35-29 in round 2, and Condit only outlanded Diaz by 2 strikes in round 1. Personally, I thought Diaz landed the better strikes in round 1 too. It was a close fight, not a runaway 49-46 for Condit.
Together we are Ruining Your Special Night. Twice.
I scored it 48-47 Condit
I was just bringing the stats into the discussion.

Most people show a one round difference from my score so it's not like it's way off base.
I’m one of the biggest Diaz fans like, ever, and didn’t think Condit had a chance. If I felt like there was any reasonable way to argue a Diaz victory I would be the first to attempt it. But, I don’t. I’m not saying my score is the only possible score, I’m just surprised that anybody could think Condit lost, whether it be by one round or four rounds.

The thing is that Condit was backpedaling but predicating his movement with OFFENSE. Yes, Condit was utilizing offense in his win against Diaz and moving out of the way when it was necessary. This idea that he was just running away is ridiculous.

he was still running, albeit fighting smart
while throwing everything at him, not condits most exciting fight but he got the W thats all that matters
Dont act like your shit dont stink
I watched the Starns/Quarry fight live
and NO ONE can appreciate that fight unless you saw it live. I have never seen anything like that at all. It was appalling. If I remember right, some of the judges gave Quarry 10-8 rounds due to the running
www.themindofshadow.blogspot.com/
Good gameplan.
There’s no doubt that it took something away from the explosiveness we were promised. But that’s also why it was so impressive. Carlos Condit was composed and unemotional throughout, and he executed almost despite himself it seemed. Frankly, Diaz was lucky Condit was sticking so close to script in the later rounds. I believe Condit could have been more aggressive and punished him even more. Diaz had lost all swagger by that point.
Watched the Kalib fight again
and still think Carlos was being “The Natural Born Kalib” except with many additional leg kicks. I’m talking mostly about the first few rounds. He got much better later on. Still not worth $60.
