UFC 144 Results: Dana White Thought Frankie Edgar Beat Benson Henderson

Dana White & Ariel Helwani caught up for a few minutes after UFC 144.

MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani caught up with UFC president Dana White after UFC 144 and got his opinion on how he scored Frankie Edgar vs. Ben Henderson, Edgar moving down a weight class, his frustration with "Rampage" and lots more.

He also did a four-minute interview for Fuel TV covering many of the same subjects.

Here's some highlights:

  • He said he scored the main event for Edgar three rounds to two with him winning the final round.
  • He clarified that he didn't give Edgar his win bonus even though he said he did at the post-fight press conference. He did give Takeya Mizugaki his, however.
  • He explained how the UFC picked the judges that came to the event and his influence over them.
  • How he wants Edgar to move down to 145 and why he thinks he's hesitant to do that.
  • His approach to Anthony Pettis vs. Henderson II or whether Edgar will get a rematch.
  • He said he's disappointed in Quinton Jackson and has been since he filmed The A-Team movie. He didn't know anything about the weight issues until he got to Japan.
  • How he respects Mark Hunt for wanting to fight in the UFC instead of taking a buyout of his Pride deal and just walking away.
  • He discusses the Japanese crowd and how he was happy with how they reacted.
