At 10PM I was sleepy as hell. I've been up since about 5:20AM and my eyes were heavy. I felt like I did when I'm watching Dream cards in the middle of the night and I usually don't make it to the end of those. However ~4 hours later I'm amped as hell waiting for the pre-fight press conference. This main card had everything I, as an MMA fan, could want in a card.

The Checklist:

• Anthony Pettis vs. Joe Lauzon - Awesome head kick KO to start off the card. Bonus points because Showtime is one of my favorite fighters
• Hatsu Hioki vs. Bart Palaszewski - A fun ground battle and the rise of a contender. I had all but written Hioki as another Japanese bust, but man he was VERY impressive tonight. Jose would still slaughter him, but at least I see why people were so high on him.
• Yushin Okami vs. Tim Boetsch - Epic come back. Joe Rogan went full retard there for a minute, but I couldn't hold it against him since my throat was hurting from screaming at the screen when he rocked Okami.
  
• Sexyama vs. Jake Shields - Judo throws. Who doesn't love an awesome Judo throw? We need more judokas in MMA. Even though Yoshihiro lost I think they should give him another shot. Welterweight was clearly the right weight class for him all along.
  
• Mark Hunt vs. Cheick Kongo - HW KO. Kongo felt Hunts strength in the clinch and then stood with him and got KTFO. Every great card needs a 1st round HW knockout.
• Rampage Jackson vs. Ryan Bader - Rampage Slam. We're in Japan and we got a Rampage slam. I had Page losing as soon as I learned about him cutting weight because of an injury, but I am surprised about us getting a Rampage slam and it was glorious.
• Frankie Edgar vs. Ben Henderson - Epic title fight. Can someone explain to me how Frankie Edgar is so good? Honestly, until the up kick he was winning that fight and basically rag dolling Ben. Both guys were extremely impressive and Frankie is phenomenal. The guy can make 135 so it would be like GSP giving Jon Jones a good fight. I wanna see them hook up Edgar vs. Aldo right now. He is the only one who has a shot at even beating Jose at FW. I love Ben Henderson so I am happy that he won.

I can't think of anything else that I'd want more out of a card. Good lord that was fantastic. I'm watching the press conference now and Dana brought out everyone because he felt they deserved it and he was right. I feel bad for any sports fan, not just MMA fan, who missed that card. That surpassed every expectation I had.. It was a rare stacked card that lived up to everything.
