Chael Sonnen can talk all the shit he wants, and as we all know, he's pretty good at it. But lets be real. The guy has 11 losses on his record, he's tapped out 8 times, and after all the years in the sport, he doesn't have a single world title to his credit. With that said, at UFC 117 the stars seemed to align. Round after round he dominated the ground game. For 4 and one half rounds Chael had his way, and then 8 seconds later it was all over.
Now with the rematch slated for Brazil...'Big Problem.' Anderson is the champion for a reason, he hasn't lost since 2004, and he's undefeated in the UFC. I think its fair to say that this guy does indeed rise to the occasion. Chael loves to brag about the 200 plus punches he hit Silva with. But seriously, if I'm in a fight, and I hit a guy nearly 300 times, mostly in the face, and I dont knock him out, I dont even cut him, then its fair to say I dont deserve to win. Chael Needed the full five rounds and the judges decision (which he surely would have gotten) but all Anderson needed was 8 seconds and the most perfectly timed submission in history.
Now the rematch is on. I'm willing to bet the result will be the same, but wont take even half the time required in their first bout. I say Silva wins by KO/Murder
