This just looks stupid, and not even in a kitschy-appealing way.
Well, part of the 'love' comes from
the fact that one of the most memorable episodes of South Park(a popular show) was an episode that spoofed Japanese anime…and which featured the song used in this promo.
The promo is ridiculous and uses the memorable song from a memorable episode of a show with a lot of fans….
Plus applying the whole ‘anime’ style of big eyes and energy auras is funny considering it’s an event taking place in Japan.
