UFC On Fuel TV Results: Stefan Struve Stops Dave Herman With Punches

Stay connected for news and updates

Stefan Struve defeats Dave Herman by TKO. The stoppage came at 3:52 in the second round.

In what comes as a surprise to no one, Stefan Struve spent the first round of the fight unable establishing proper range. This allowed an incredibly hairy Dave Herman to wade his way inside to land strikes from all eight points. That's not to say that Struve wasn't effective, however, as he landed combinations of his own, including several lead knees to the body. A short uppercut knocked Herman down with 90 seconds left in the second round. The strike didn't seem powerful but it landed right on the proverbial button.

Struve quickly settled into mount and relentlessly threw strikes. Referee Josh Rosenthal allowed Herman all the opportunities to improve his position and fight back. Unfortunately for Herman, he was essentially a turtle off his back and failed to escape this terrible position. Though the fight was stopped, many of Struve's strikes were blocked by the arms of Dave Herman.

Stefan Struve continues to show improvement as a heavyweight but still fails to fight like a fighter that is 6'11". But not utilizing a jab he allowed Herman to stay dangerous. Herman is now 1-1 in the UFC and drew the ire earlier this week of the UFC President for coming in looking like a teen wolf.
