Why doesn't this guy have more of a legacy? I don't know much about him myself, but looking at his early fight history, I can't help but think that this guy must've been a top 10 pound-for-pound fighter in his prime. Wins over Semmy Schilt, Masakatsu Funaki, Pete Williams, Guy Mezger, FRANK SHAMROCK?!
Yet no articles from the MMA history buffs like Jonathan Snowden, what's up with that?

I only know him for losing to Tito
and getting viciously stomped by Wanderlei

I meant really early on in his career in Pancrase. By the time he fought in Pride, he already had 58 fights, so it’s expected that he was washed out by then.

He had a pretty good career in Pancrase.
But people will always remember him as that guy who got stomped to oblivion by Wandy.

I never really understood why it seems that most Japanese fighters have like 50+ fights on their records. DREAM matchups almost always look like it’s a veteran with a 45-30 record versus a newbie with a 1-0 record.
