SBNation.com, Baseball Nation and all the SBN regional hubs have that same “garbage page layout” and they’re doing just fine. Nation was doing just fine too but it made no sense to have 2 MMA flagships for the network.

So is MMA Fighting supposed to become the "flagship" now?

There will be some slight adjustment and changes, but they want to keep the feel of the original MMAFighting.com
I don't know if you'll see this or if you have any input...or if you'll care
But the one thing that the old MMAFighting layout had going for it was when you clicked an authors name it had a far better “recent stories” layout than the current one.
The old one allowed to see a portion of the article, or in Helwani’s case allowed you to watch the video from there, instead of just the headlines.

I disagree. I couldn’t find anything on MMA Nation, and would only go there via direct links to articles. The layout of MMA Nation was the #1 reason why I didn’t go there directly looking for new material to read. With that said, I’m glad MMA Nation is no more and that everyone is back at BE. Sad to see Luke Thomas go to MMA Fighting though… Why wasn’t he offered to come back to BE? Or is it more profitable to write for MMA Fighting or something?

i would think MMAfighting has more exposure than bloodyelbow does thanks to Ariel's videos, Esthers photos, and Mike and Ben's articles.

Any chance Snowden comes back to BE now that there’s no MMA Nation anymore? He seemed to really like it here at BE, joining in all the fun in the comments section and whatnot. People can say what they want, but his take on most topics was refreshing.

and then read the author was luke thomas haha, was pretty surreal.
