Esther Lin for MMA Fighting

The controversial feature bout of the FX prelims ended with a beautiful counter strike delivered by Yves Edwards,

So after all the hullabaloo at UFC On FX 5, Jeremy Stephens finally got his fight against Yves Edwards. It's been widely reported how Stephens was arrested just a few hours before the fight was scheduled on an outstanding warrant from his home state of Iowa. Despite Dana White's best effort the Minneapolis police wouldn't release Stephens who was charged with felony assault. White finally got to make this Lightweight fight when Edwards' original opponent John Cholish suffered an injury in training.

Yves Edwards made his intentions clear from the opening bell. He stayed just outside Stephens' range looking to counter the power puncher. The plan worked perfectly. When Stephens lunged forward with a big right hand, Yves stepped aside and dropped him with a right hook of his own. Yves Edwards KO'd Jeremy Stephens at of the first round.
