UFC On Fox 5 results: Ramsey Nijem gets unanimous decision over Joe Proctor

Proctor and Nijem went back and forth for 15 minutes in a high-paced exciting fight.

Lightweights Ramsy Nijem and Joe Proctor squared of at UFC On Fox 5 in a battle of the TUF vets. Ramsey made it to the TUF 13 finals, but got knocked out by Tony Ferguson. He dropped down to 155 lbs after that loss and won his first two fights in the smaller division. Proctor competed in the TUF 15 tournament, but lost in the quarterfinals. He got his second UFC fight tonight after knocking out Jeremy Larsen at the TUF 15 Finale.

Nijem tied up with Proctor early and Proctor defended with a standing guillotine attempt. They separate and square off in the center of the cage. Nijem lands a push kick that sent Proctor to the mat and Ramsey swarmed. Proctor survived but took a lot of damage. Separated again and both fighters are winging hooks. Proctor landed solid, Ramsey shot the takedown but Joe landed on top.

Ramsey and Proctor both looked to box in the second round and both landing good shots. Halfway through the round Nijem slowed the action down with a takedown. Proctor was able to reverse started working an unsuccessful giullotine attempt. Proctor dedicated to that front choke and his blood is all over Nijem's back. Ramsey on top and tried to land some ground and pound as the round closed.

3rd round started with both guys trading strikes for the first minute. Nijem secured a takedown. Proctor ate a lot of shots before getting back to his feet only to end up on his back again. Proctor got back up, defended the next takedown and attempted an armbar. Ramsey survived and took top position again. Back on the feet and they swung for the fences. Ramsey Nijem took the unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) over Joe Proctor
