Dennis Siver spent 15 minutes punishing Nam Phan on the feet and on the ground.
Coming off a decision win over Diego Nunes, Dennis Siver faced off against Nam Phan for his second Featherweight fiight at UFC On Fox 5. Siver decided he was better suited to the 145 lb. division after getting KO'd by Donald Cerrone at UFC 137. Phan's UFC run has been filled with hills and valleys since getting robbed of a decision against Leonard Garcia in his promotional debut. He eventually righted that wrong and came off a decision win over Cole Miller.
Phan and Siver met in the center of the Octagon right at the opening bell. Siver started out very strong punishing Nam with kicks and punches from distance. Phan's offensive is almost non-existent as he Siver tags him with kicks to the body, head, and legs. Phan got a solid hook in, but Dennis still dominated. Phan started to land a bit more at the end of the round as Siver slowed down.
Siver was a little slower in the second round, but still landing solid on a frustrated Phan. Siver landed a spinning back kick to Phan's head before taking him down. Nam held Siver in half-guard, but ate a lot of ground and pound. Great round for Siver as he put a beating on Phan from dominant position.
It didn't take long for Siver to get the fight to the ground in the 3rd round. He quickly started looking for an arm triangle. Siver established a base from half guard and brutalized Phan with punches. Incredibly dominant performance by Siver. Dennis Siver takes dominant unanimous decision (30-25, 30-24, 30-26) victory over Nam Phan.
