The Bantamweights kicked off UFC On Fox 5 on the Facebook portion of the prelims. The fight delivered in spades with scrambles and submission attempts from both fighters.
Bantamweights Scott Jorgensen and John Albert got the party started for UFC On Fox 5. Although a former contender, 2012 hasn't been a good year for Jorgensen. After his first two fights in the UFC, he gave up back to back losses to Renan Barao and Michael McDonald this year. Albert impressed in his UFC debut with a 69 second KO of Dustin Pague at the TUF 14 Finale, but has gone on a two fight skid since then.
Jorgensen and Albert didn't waste any time. They traded a couple shots in the opening seconds before Scott shot for a takedown. Albert tried to counter with an armbar attempt, but ended up underneath with Jorgensen in his guard. Albert hit an incredible sweep and attacked with a rear naked choke but Scott was able to get back on top. Albert locked on a triangle. Jorgensen defended and passed to side control. Albert tried to scramble out and Jorgensen locked on a rear naked choke. Scott Jorgensen defeated John Albert by submission at 4:59 of the first round.
