Being a huge fight fan, i believe this is my contribution to the BE community. LATE NIGHT FIGHTS as a series was created in order to highlight great classics and those fights that are often cited but rarely seen as well as the past, present and future legends of MMA in their early non UFC or non MMA bouts. - KJJ

Tonight's edition of LNF is a short one but an important one. One of the most misrepresented fights probably in the history of MMA. Many accuse Sherk of 'lay and praying' Diaz, but as the video shows, this is clearly not the truth.

In fact, several times Rogan fawns over Diaz's awesome takedown defense.

Diaz even takes down and reverses Sherk several times. Sherk went 2-19 for a 10.5% takedown success rate. Diaz went 1-1 with 3 sub attempts and both guys had 1 reversal. Sherk went 39-155 for 25% of significant strikes landing, Diaz 57-136 for 42%

My favorite part is with 1:40 left in the 2nd, Goldy tired of being overshadowed by Rogan and Bonnar in the commentary, jumps in with some very loud Goldbergisms. With 1:35 left in the 3rd he completely blows one and Rogan calls him out on it. Enjoy!
