While watching the New Years Dream Glory fights, the first fight i saw captivated me. Some very inexperienced american fighter who had less then 10 fights that i'd never heard of before was fighting the submission guru Satoru Kitaoka. Before the fight started i thought that i was watching a undefeated, green, mma fighter about to have a torn something, or a broken limb, in his first big fight. I mean Will "Ill Will" Brooks who was undefeated in his 7 bouts. His first bout was less then 2 years ago. When the opening bell rung and the fight was on you could tell Mr. Brooks was very athletic. He twice back to belly suplexed Kitaoka, smashing the asian fighter onto his head. Kitaoka was in posistion may times with Brooks ankles firmly gripped, everytime Will spun out. The one time he didn't spin out he used his free leg to kick Kitaoka in the face repeatedly until he let go. It was hard to believe that the man who had 50 fights, with wins over notable apponents such as Kurt Pellegrino, Carlos Condit, Paul Daley, and Takanori Gomi to name a few was being dismantled by this young upstart. The end came at 3:46 of the 2nd round. With Kitaoka on his belly and Brooks on his back throwing some heavy leather to the seasoned vet. I really look forward to seeing Will Brooks fight again. This man just might be something special. Monte Cox certainly thinks he is special, to put him in this fight just shows how much respect Monte has for him.
