One of the UFC's best lightweights needed to make some extra cash on a quiet Saturday morning. Thanks to Dana White, he found his huckleberry.
The first installment of UFC president Dana White's video blogs for UFC 155 kicked off with a subject that has nothing to do with the event itself. Rather, it focuses on a grappling match between Joe Lauzon and a friend of Dana White.
Yes, you read that correctly.
Made because White's friend -- Nick "The Tooth" Gullo -- apparently was a bit overanxious in talking about grappling, White asked Lauzon to grapple with Gullo prior to UFC on Fox 5 with some cash on the line. Every time Lauzon would submit Gullo, he'd earn $1000 to $2500 for every time Gullo could submit Lauzon.
We won't spoil it for you here, but you can guess how it turns out. Lauzon earned a nice payday for three minutes work. For those not familiar with Gullo, he's a photographer who also does some BJJ training. His level was nowhere near Lauzon's which showed rather quickly.
Watch the near 11-minute video, especially Gullo's unfortunate decision to later chew tobacco, above.
