Dana White: I want to thank everyone for getting on this call on such short notice. Uhmm, I don't know how to say this except just to say it. With Nick Diaz you always think things can't get any stranger and then all of sudden...well. I made the decision, along with Lorenzo, to end our relationship with Nick Diaz and cut him from the UFC. This was hard guys. It was something that I didn't want to do but with Nick I need to have him meet me at least half way, hell, I'd take a quarter of the way but it just didn't happen so Nick Diaz is out of his fight with GSP, Johny Hendricks is in and he will fight for the title in Montreal in March. With that I will open it up for question.

Moderator: Ariel Helwani from

Ariel: Dana, of course this is shocking news, can you open up and tell us a little more about what led to this?

Dana: Sure. Back on December, I think it was 14th, might have been 15th, I was in Vegas or Brazil, it doesn't matter, the point is I hung up the phone with Cesar that day with what I thought was a deal for Nick to face GSP. Everything was done, you saw the announcements go out, the PR machine has been working overtime since promoting this event. Let me tell you something, this was going to be a huge fucking event and it still will be. But, you had a great lineup of the best welterweights in the world on one card that we have ever seen. Ever. I'm telling you, I was more pumped about this card than I have been in a long time. So, legal does their thing, writes the contract, Georges signs, we send it to Cesar and we wait. A week goes by, nothing. Christmas comes and goes. Nothing. New Years comes and goes. Nothing. Now it has been about a month since we sent Nick's people the contract with complete radio silence on their end. Finally, I've had enough of this shit. I track Cesar down and ask him what the fuck is going on. Cesar's quiet, then he tells me Nick isn't signing the contract. He wants more money. He feels that not only should he be paid like the Anderson's and the GSP's he should be paid like Floyd, he should get Manny money. I fucking hung up the phone and called Nick. Nothing. Even his voicemail had nothing, it was just a beep and his mailbox was full. I was done. I'm out of the Nick Diaz business. Flabbergasted.

Moderator: Ariel Helwani from

Ariel: So you never heard anything more, nothing form his people?

Dana: I saw Nate the other day at a Team Metro or an X-Box event, could've been Harley. Anyway, he said a bunch of stuff I didn't understand and I just looked at him and said what the fuck are you saying, Nate? Nick wants to box. That's what he said. Nick wants to box. As in professionally. I said are you fucking kidding me? Let me tell you something. Nick was going to get paid more money than he has ever seen in his life, after this he could walk away from the sport forever and buy as many nun-chucks as he wanted, he could hire a guy to hire a guy to buy him a house, he could go get his head caved in trying his hand at boxing. He had this chance, this one fucking chance, to face this guy, one of the best in the world, who he has been calling out. Go back and look and see how many fucking times Nick called out GSP over the years. Now, he has a shot on one of the biggest cards of the year, with one of the biggest pay days he and many, many other fighters will never see, and he pulls this shit. I am angry. I'm fucking angry and every MMA fan should be angry.

Moderator: Josh Gross from

Josh: Didn't you see this coming, Dana? After everything you have been thru with Nick, didn't you have a plan b?

Dana: Of course I had a fucking plan b. What the fuck do you think I am, a fucking moron. What the fuck do you think Johny Hendricks is on the card for? Why the fuck do you think I have this card so heavily weighted with welterweights? Have you ever seen us do something like that? Use your fucking head and then ask your fucking question. Next.

Moderator: Ariel Helwani from

Ariel: So, is this the end of the UFC's relationship with Nick Diaz for good? Is there any room for negotiation if he came back to you after this, after you called his bluff?

Dana: You know what, back to that last question. People wanted to see this fucking fight. GSP wanted this fight. Nick told me, face to face, he wanted this more than anything. But, for some nimrod to imply that I didn't know what I was getting into when I sit down with Nick Diaz and try to make a fight is fucking insulting. I've been doing this a long fucking time, I think I have a clue of what I am doing. I knew the risks, I took precautions. Johny is going to get his shot and we are going to have a great fucking night of fights. Oh, by the way, Erick Silva will face Jake Ellenberger as well. This is a great fucking card. This is what I do. This is what Joe does. We do it every day of the fucking year. Of course we knew Nick might bail but we wanted to give this fight every chance of happening. It's not, we're moving on as we always do. I'm sorry, what was the question, Ariel.

Ariel: Uhmm, is there any circumstance, any situation where Nick could come back to you, after you called his bluff on this, and you guys can work this out?

Dana: Let me make this as clear as I can. No...fucking....way. He could come in here, with the whole Gracie clan, on their knees begging to get this fight back and the answer would be the same. No..fucking...way. Are you kidding me?This is three strikes since he's been back. First, he doesn't show up for a press conference to promote the biggest fight of his fucking life. A press conference and he loses his shot. Second, he gets busted for pot after the Condit fight. We could have set up a rematch right away after that fight and he fucked it up. I know weed is a controversial thing and he has a card but he fucked it up. Now, this is the third strike. You want Manny Pacquiao money? Are you fucking high? Well, we know the answer to that but are you fucking kidding me? You want Pacquiao money and you can't show up to press conferences, you're getting busted for weed left and right. I can't do it anymore, I just can't. The sad thing is, I really like Nick, I love the way that guy fights. When he is in the cage or the ring no one leaves more out there than he does and it's fucking great to watch. That's why I tried so hard to make this happen. But, he's not coming back, you know how I say that about a guy and then he is back a year later. That's not happening this time. He's done for good. Never say never but he's finished with the UFC.

Moderator: That concludes this conference call. Please mark your calendars for the next tele-conference and have a good night everyone.
