Less than 90 minutes before the main card broadcast, The Ultimate Fighter Finale lost an important bout.
Less than two hours before The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale was ready to air the main card on FX, the show lost an important fight. Lightweights Melvin Guillard and Jamie Varner were scheduled for a highly anticipated, action-packed fight. Unfortunately, the fight won't happen.
John Morgan of MMA Junkie announced the news via his Twitter account:
Jamie Varner is in the back throwing up, and his fight with Melvin Guillard has been scratched.

Guillard's currently sitting on an unimpressive 1-3 skid in his last four fights, being finished in all three losses. This was going to be his opportunity to get back on track. Varner returned to the UFC at UFC 146 with a first round destruction of the highly touted Edson Barboza. He followed that up with a losing effort in a Fight of the Night performance against Joe Lauzon at UFC On Fox 4, but didn't fail to impress.
Both fighters were awarded their promised show money for the night. The fight has been rescheduled for UFC 155 on December 29.
