As with every major show, Bloody Elbow will be here to bring you live results, play by play and commentary for. Our live coverage will start with the Facebook stream, which is comprised of three fights. That will kick off at approximately 5:35 p.m. ET/2:35 p.m. PT. That will be followed by four fights on Fuel TV. That broadcast starts at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT. Finally, the five-fight main card will air on FX and begins at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
This portion will cover the main card, which is headlined by a heavyweight bout between TUF 16 coach Roy Nelson and Matt Mitrione.The TUF 16 final will also be contested between Mike Ricci and Colton Smith.
Round 1 - Nelson was missing badly early, while Mitrione stayed on the outside. Mitrione threw two head kicks. Nelson clinched up and looked for a takedown. Mitrione reversed against the cage and landed a knee. Nice elbow on the break. Another hard body kick. The two men threw down for a bit, with both landing. Nelson landed the big right, but Mitrione took it. He didn't take the next one though! An uppercut, and a left put Mitrione down! Nelson bombed away and Herb Dean had to stop it. Round 1 - Ricci missed with a high kick and Smith shot in low. Ricci stacked him up and landed some elbows to the back of the head. Smith was pretty relentless early with his wrestling and finally got him to his butt. Ricci got up, but Smith took his back with one hook. He got the second hook and flattened him out briefly, but Ricci defended well. Smith looked for a choke but Ricci fought it off. Ricci squirmed free and go up. Smith scooped up another single and looked for a takedown. He got it. Pretty much all Smith there. 10-9 Smith.
Round 2 - Ricci took a low blow, but Mazzagatti just ignored it. Smith swarmed for the takedown and got it a minute in. Smith was relentless on Ricci's back, just smothering him. He sunk both hookes and looked for a choke, but Ricci got out and up again. Smith took it right back down with a body lock though. He got the back and squeezed the jaw again, but he couldn't get his arm under the chin. Smith controlled the rest of the round while glued to Ricci's back. 10-9 Smith again.
Round 3 - Ricci tried to kick a bit but just got swallowed up by Smith again. Back on to the back, back to a sitting position. Exactly the same as the first two rounds. He has a body lock now. Hey, that's different. Smith had mount for a little bit, but went back to back control and landed a few punches. Ricci almost reversed, but Smith stayed on his back and wouldn't let him up. Ricci FINALLY spun out and got on top with 40 seconds to go. Ricci got his back but he's up high. He switched to an armbar! Smith is out and got his back. Big scare there, but it's Smith's fight. He's your new Ultimate Fighter. Smith 10-9 and 30-27.
Colton Smith defeated Mike Ricci by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-26)
Round 1 - Del Rosario leads with a strong kick to the belly. Shane checked a Barry kick. SDR landed two knees in the clinch, and pushed HD against the fence. Del Rosario went for a takedown, Barry grabbed the cage, and the ref missed it. Barry looked for a choke (LOL). They grinded against the cage for a while while SDR landed some short shots. They finally separated and proceeded to throw some kicks. Del Rosario shot in for another takedown and eventually got Barry's back. SDR sinks a choke with no hooks. Del Rosario didn't have the right angle and let it go. SDR slipped off the top but gave up an arm. He used an omoplata to take the back. Barry ended up on top but it was too late to do anything. 10-9 Del Rosario.
Round 2 - Barry landed a nice right early and a huge shot that dropped Del Rosario! Shane's out! Holy crap! A left stunned him, two rights, a left, and a massive right put him to sleep. Pat Barry defeated Shane del Rosario by knockout (punch), 0:26 of round 2
Round 1 - Brookins went to the body early, and Brookins stunned him with a shot. Both men just threw down for about 45 seconds, with Brookins getting the best of it. Poirier clinched up for a bit. Brookins touched him up yet again, but Poirier isn't going anywhere. Poirier came back with a kick and a right cross. Poirier landed a nice knee on the inside. Poirier started to press the action a bit while Brookins looked to go to the body. Big uppercut and left from Poirier. Poirier wobbled Brookins with a counter right jab. Poirier turned it on against the cage, and locked up a tight D'arce choke. And got the tap! Great fight! Dustin Poirier defeated Jonathan Brookins by submission (D'Arce choke), 4:15 of round 1
